Technically, the Nifty is facing resistance near the 17,500 level while 17,615 is a critical hurdle above 17,615, we can expect a short-covering rally towards the 18000 level. Amid all of this, FIIs' behaviour will play a critical role in the direction of the market because they are still holding their hands on the sell button where they have sold worth Rs 15,800 crore in the cash market last week however DIIs provided good support to the market by handsome buying of worth Rs 16,500 crore in the cash market. We will also have our IIP and inflation numbers next week however they will be released on Friday after market hours. It will be important to see how the RBI will keep a balance between rising fear of Omicron, strong growth, higher inflation, and hawkish US fed. There are lots of news flows on the Omicron variant which is causing volatility in the market while on the domestic front we will have the outcome of an important credit policy of the RBI that is scheduled on December 8. Santosh Meena, Head of Research, Swastika Investmart | The volatility is likely to continue amid Omicron uncertainty, RBI credit policy, and macroeconomic numbers. As far as levels are concerned, 17,350 – 17,500 – 17,600 are to be considered as immediate hurdles whereas on the flipside, 17,000 – 16,800 should be treated as a cluster of support. But it would be a prudent strategy to keep booking timely profits and considering the volatile nature of global markets, carrying aggressive bets overnight should be strictly avoided. Meanwhile, traders can continue with a stock specific approach and we may see trades on both sides if the Nifty remains in a consolidation mode. Also sooner or later we expect the recent low around 16800 is to be breached soon but it will happen immediately or after some more consolidation in the range of 16,800 – 17,500 we need to assess the situation in the coming week.
